Sawai Man Singh Hospital in the biggest Health Care Centre which aim to serve a common man. It is the biggest government hospital in the state which is well equiped with all specialities.

General Information :

Location : The hospital is situated in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. It is located on Ram Singh Road only a kilometer away from Ajmeri gate. It has easy access from Jawaharla Nehru Marg as well.

Medical Staff :
There are 255 doctors from different specialities and a total of 660 nurses are dedicated to their profession of serving the sick.

There are 43 wards in all with a total of 1563 beds.

Emergency Ward :

Emergency services are available round the clock. The emergency ward has the following sections-
CPRU, Plaster Section, Minor plastic surgery ward, Emergency Operation Theatre, X-ray facility, E.C.G. and ICU and an observation ward which has 28 beds.
In the emergency ward all life saving drugs are given free of charge.

Central Laboratory :

There is a provision within the hospital for various medical tests so that the patients can avoid going to private diagnostic centres.

1. Summer:   April 1 to Sept. 30  8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
2. Winter:  Oct. 1 to March 31 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
3. On State holidays
Summer: 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.

Timing for Medical Outdoor Services
  
Summer : 8 a.m. to 12 noon
5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Winter : 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
4 p.m. to 6 p.m.


Visiting Hours : 
Friends/Relatives can visit the patients who are admitted in the hospital.

 
Summer : 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Winter : 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.


   
But visitors are not allowed when the doctor is on the round.

When the patients don't avail the meal facility provided by the hospital their friends/relatives are allowed to being them food during the meal hours

Patients who wish to stay in cottages instead of General Wards can do so by paying the applicable charges.

Facilities/Other services. :


1. Medical examination for health certificate is done free of cost when the certificate is
    required by a govt. organization and at a minimal fees otherwise.
2. Life saving drugs & fluids are provided to patients at less than the market price.
3. Ambulance service is available round the clock at the rate of Rs. 3.50 per k.m. Wheel
    chairs & Stretchers are available free of cost.
4. Medicines are given free of charge to patients facing emergency and to patients below
    poverty line.
5. Meals, as prescribed by the dietician are served to patients. There is a provision to give
    food free to poor patients.
